Our Founder
Nussair P. Habboush is the Founding and Managing Partner of Habboush Law PLLC, founded in 2013, a boutique family law practice serving clients in Connecticut and New York.
A trial-tested matrimonial attorney with more than 15 years of courtroom experience, Mr. Habboush concentrates his practice on complex high-net-worth and high conflict family law matters. He has successfully represented individuals and families with estates exceeding $100 million and annual incomes in the multi-million-dollar range.
Nussair’s trial experience is expansive and distinguished by high-stakes litigation at every level. He served on the team that secured a triple-homicide acquittal in a death penalty eligible Federal RICO case in the Eastern District of New York and has tried cases before both judges and juries.
In the area of family law, Nussair has litigated cutting edge issues, including one of the first cases in New York to address the issue of whether the landmark standing standard established in Brooke S.B. v. Elizabeth A.C.C., a groundbreaking decision involving LGBTQ custody rights, could be extended to a non-biological stepparent in a heterosexual relationship. Representing the biological mother before the Appellate Division, Second Department, Nussair opposed a national Am Law 100 firm that appeared in the case for the opposing party due to the significance of the legal questions presented.
Over the course of his career, Nussair has conducted hundreds of trials and hearings and has examined the full range of witnesses central to complex family law litigation including forensic accountants, business valuators, mental health professionals, among others. Nussair is known for his meticulous preparation, methodical and commanding advocacy in the courtroom, and strategic approach to negotiation and settlement.
Nussair earned his Juris Doctorate from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. While in law school, he competed in the prestigous Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, earning an Outstanding Oralist Award competing against over 1,200 students from across the world. He returned to Haub Law to coach and train students competing in national trial competitions.
Prior to law school, Nussair earned his B.S. and M.A.T. from Sacred Heart University, where he played Wide Receiver on the NCAA football team and served as a Congressional Intern for the Honorable Christopher Shays, United States Congress.
Nussair brings to every client matter the same discipline, competitive drive, and commitment to preparation that defined his career both before and within the law.
